Bindrune Generator:
Build Your Own Bind Rune
A bind rune joins two or more Elder Futhark runes on a single shared stave, so they read as one symbol. Start from a purpose and we will suggest a combination, or pick the runes yourself.
Then drag each rune up or down until the shape feels right, choose a stroke and a surface, and download it as a square, a poster or a phone wallpaper. Free, no account, no watermarkless upsell.

Runes in your bind rune
A bind rune is a focus for your own intention. It is not medical, financial or legal advice, and it is not a substitute for treatment, professional help or your own judgement.
What a Bind Rune Actually Is
One stave, several runes
Almost every Elder Futhark rune is built on a vertical line called a stave, with branches attached to it. A bind rune lets two or more runes share that one stave, so instead of a row of letters you get a single mark. That is the whole idea, and it is why this generator draws the stave first and hangs the runes on it.
It is genuinely old
Bound runes survive on the Kylver stone in Gotland, on brooches, rings and weapons across Scandinavia and on Anglo-Saxon coins. Carvers used them to save room, to mark ownership and to make a name into a single sign. What is modern is the idea of designing one for a personal purpose, and we say so plainly.
Two to four runes
Historical bind runes are usually two runes, sometimes three. This generator caps the number at four, and that limit is a kindness: past four the branches start to collide and nobody, including you, can read the symbol back.
How to Use the Generator
1 · Choose your runes
Pick a purpose from the categories and take the suggested combination, or select runeing yourself from the full Elder Futhark. Every suggestion was put together and reviewed with Sofia Veles, not generated at random.
2 · Arrange them
Drag a rune up or down the stave. You cannot move it sideways, because on a shared stave there is nowhere sideways to go — which is exactly why the result stays readable however you arrange it.
3 · Give it a surface
Brush and Ink render the strokes as real brushwork, thick through the middle and tapering at the ends. Line keeps them geometric. Choose a background and a paper or linen grain to match where the image is going.
4 · Take it with you
Download as a square for social, a 2:3 poster for printing or pinning, or a phone wallpaper sized to fit without cropping. You can keep the rune names printed under the symbol or take them off.

Before You Wear It
Read every rune first
A bind rune carries the meaning of all its parts at once. Open each rune page and read it, including the reversed meaning. Ten minutes now is worth more than a regret later, especially if the symbol is going on skin.
Watch what you accidentally spell
Runes overlap. Two runes on one stave can produce the outline of a third you never chose. Look at the finished shape and ask whether you can still see each rune you selected, and whether anything unintended has appeared.
Know what some marks carry
A few Elder Futhark runes, notably Sowilo doubled and some forms of Othala, were taken up by the Nazi regime and still carry that association for many viewers. The runes are two thousand years older than that misuse, but you should know before you wear one.
A symbol, not a solution
A bind rune is something to focus on, the way people use a ring, a photograph or a word written on a wall. It does not treat illness, settle debts or decide court cases. If a situation needs a doctor, an accountant or a lawyer, it needs one whether or not you carry a symbol.
